Frequently Asked Questions - Visual Impairments Tours

How will I experience a tour of this nature?
These tours have been designed and are guided specifically around your visual disability. We have involved all our other senses, making these tours informative, by touching, smelling, tasting and hearing thereby creating a visual picture leaving very little to your imagination.

Can I travel on my own?
Yes, we do not discriminate against single travelers, provided you are medically fit to travel alone, however it will be rather logistically difficult for you to go through all the airports etc, without some assistance, although we admit it is not impossible.

May I organize a private tour?
Yes. We are happy to custom-design a private tour for small groups, provided there is a minimum number of 4 clients.

May friends and families travel with me?
Most definitely. In fact, that is our main target market - small groups, with 1 or 2 people in the group being disabled and the rest of the group consisting of able-bodied friends, carers and/or family members.

Can we tailor-make this tour around my specific dates and amount of days?
Depending on the availability of our vehicles and guides, we will do our best to try and accommodate your specific request – also taking into account any special interests that your group might have, for example, birding/ fishing/ cultural experience, etc.

Do I pay more for this tour due to my disability?
No. Once you pay the standard tour cost, there are no extra costs involved.

May I travel with my guide dog?
At this point in time it is not possible for you to bring your guide dog on tour with you for the simple reason of the regulations in the National Parks. Domestic animals are not allowed into the National parks due to the transference of diseases, as well as the danger aspect when dealing with your larger predators such as lions and leopards.

Am I at a higher risk of danger due to my visual disability with animals in National Parks?
With the excellent supervision of our guides and tour leaders, and provided you are a person who listens occasionally to what they are advising, the answer is No, you are not at a higher risk of danger due to your visual disability.

What do I need to bring with me in order to do this travel?
We recommend a passport, humour and enthusiasm.
